Charlotte Asian Festival and Dragon Boat Festival 2026
May 16, 2026, Charlotte Asian Festival and Dragon Boat Festival 2026: On behalf of Breast Cancer Hub (BCH), we are immensely thankful to Dr John C. Chen, Ms. Minh Ngo, Ms. Bethani Ka, Ms. Kim Lam, and the organizing team for giving BCH the opportunity to serve the community and further our mission of promoting cancer awareness, early detection, and patient support.
A huge shoutout to our BCH Ambassadors-Aadit Krishna, Shriya Jaishankar, Siya Patil, Amoolya Vikas, Shruti Kesavan Sree Kumar, and Anu Marathi-for their exceptional dedication to raising cancer awareness and engaging the community. Their efforts received an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees.
The ambassadors shared valuable information about BCH’s early detection and screening programs, introduced our handcrafted patient care packages, and highlighted BCH’s grassroots mission of providing comprehensive support services-from screening and diagnosis to treatment assistance and counseling-completely free of charge. They also guided visitors through the Activity Station, where participants honored loved ones affected by cancer under the theme: “In Loving Memory of Our Dear Ones Lost to Cancer, and in Honor of Our Fighters and Survivors.”
Special thanks to Ms. Preeti Badri and Aadit Krishna for coordinating the logistics on behalf of BCH - your efforts are truly appreciated. Immensely thankful to Mr. Arun Damodaran, Mr. Vikas Kesavan, Ms. Manju Devakikutty, and Mr. Athul Vikas - families of our ambassadors, for helping me with the wrap-up and transportation of materials.
During the outreach, we distributed brochures outlining all of our 100% free grassroots services and contact information, ensuring that anyone encountering a suspicious case can reach out to me directly for treatment guidance and support. The brochures also included QR codes for easy access to:
Breast Self-Exam Cards for Her and Him, in 27 languages
Life-saving Early detection cards for other types of prevalent cancers
Details on our one-of-a-kind “BCH Know Your Breasts” App, available in 27 languages and for all genders-the first of its kind
Direct contact info for those seeking guidance or noticing symptoms
To amplify engagement, we shared color-coded wristbands and keyrings:
Pink for breast cancer in women
Blue for breast cancer in men
Purple for all cancers and all genders-symbolizing unity
We also handed out bookmarks featuring ribbon colors of various cancers, promoting awareness, inclusion, and solidarity.
We shared details about our handcrafted Patient Care Packages, lovingly created by BCH’s dedicated volunteer seamstresses. Each set included:
A heart-shaped pillow with a pocket for hot/cold packs for post-surgery relief
A Chemo Port Car Seat Belt Pillow for travel comfort
Soft hats for those experiencing chemo-related scalp sensitivity
Handmade cards with original, uplifting artwork
These gifts go beyond physical comfort-they embody hope, love, and unwavering support.
Together, we continue to raise awareness, provide support, and most importantly-save lives.
With gratitude,
Dr Lopamudra Das Roy , on behalf of Breast Cancer Hub Family
