Completed Bachelor’s degree from University of Calcutta, India - with concentration in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 1980’s studied Accounting from Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC. Worked part time as an accountant with CPA firms (Small Business Accounting) while I also took care of my kids and family.
I have a 6-yr. diploma in Bhatkhande school of Classical Music and have been singing since I was 10 years old. Throughout my life I have been actively involved in giving performances, leading competitions in various areas, such as - acting in drama, singing, writing essays, poetry writing, recitations, publishing school magazine- which was required to be nicely handwritten.
I have been very closely involved with our local Bengali Community, Probasi of Charlotte, (a non-profit organization) for activities in Charlotte, NC, by serving in various capacities including President of the organization and currently is on Board of Directors.
The 2 things I value most are:
- Education - it gives the people the tools and the skills they need to enrich themselves and their community.
- Music - it lifts us up when needed and also can express our thoughts through songs when it is difficult to speak our mind in any other way.
Mission Statement:
I am delighted to help Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy on her noble mission and plan to spread the word, especially to women who still think they won’t be affected by breast cancer. My ability, interest and love for working with people should be an asset in accomplishing my mission.
