Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) has been serving Sierra Leone since March 2021 with patient treatment Aid, follow-ups, and Community Breast Cancer screening in collaboration with Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation. In February 2025, I traveled in person for the first time to meet our collaborators and the underserved sectors we have been serving. We also made strategic plans on how BCH can further expand community screening, patient treatment, and research. The Sierra Leone civil war severely impacted healthcare, and is one of the poorest countries in the world, with impoverished infrastructure combined with a lack of resources and trained medical professionals severely limiting access to healthcare, along with prolonged power outages, water access, and inadequate sanitation and hygiene, contributing to the spread of life-threatening communicable diseases.

It was gratifying to learn that the work I have been doing on behalf of BCH over the last few years in Africa is helping the underserved in the utmost need. We cannot be more thankful to our BCH donors for their continued support. We are immensely grateful to Thinking Pink (TP), whose support is unparalleled.

I was immensely touched by the TP Team’s love, warmth, and affection. I am so grateful to Mrs. Cremelda and the TP Team for the hospitality and for making me feel like a Family member!
