Patient (16 years), Sierra Leone, Africa: Testimony: “I want to thank Breast Cancer Hub for paying for my Histopathology. Prior to my surgery, the Medical team at Thinking Pink offered free counseling to me as I had no knowledge about what Breast Cancer is. Thank you Breast Cancer Hub for your support towards patients like myself; I have promised “Thinking Pink” that I would be part of their advocacy team to sensitize teenage girls’. Thank you once again for your most needed funding.

Patient History:  (Name undisclosed), a 16 years old High School student was diagnosed with Breast lump two years ago but refused to undergo a Lumpectomy because she was scared and ashamed of stigmatization associated with Breast Cancer.

She accessed Thinking Pink  with her mother during the Awareness/ Sensitization Campaign and Free Breast Screening in Commemoration of the International Women’s Day in February to listen to Breast Health education. With funds from Breast Cancer Hub her Histopathology Test post-surgery was covered.
