Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) is a GuideStar Platinum Certified, Top-Rated 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, registered in North Carolina, USA in September 2017.

Founder & President 

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, a Distinguished Cancer Scientist (Molecular Oncologist), Research Professor, Principal Investigator, and a social entrepreneur, left her esteemed position at UNC Charlotte in 2017 to establish BCH as a full-time humanitarian initiative providing 100% free services. Guided by a vision to save lives through transformative, sustainable change at the grassroots level, she is committed to bridging gaps between the developed and developing worlds.

MISSION

  1. Early Detection & Prevention: Awareness, Education - BCH generates One-stop Life-Saving Screening Cards, Research papers, Educational videos in simple layman’s terms to empower everyone about the symptoms of Cancer, help detect early, and treat accurately. APP - “BCH KNOW YOUR BREASTS” - Breast Self Exam (BSE) Reminder for ALL GENDERS in 28 LANGUAGES: App Store and Google Play Store.

  2. Community Outreaches & Cancer screening camps – We save innumerable lives each day by helping to be detected early, analyzing the reports, navigating suspicious cases towards healthcare facilities & affordable options for the underprivileged & uninsured populace. We have follow-ups from patients as Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy shares her contacts during the outreaches & provides scientific counseling for each patient reaching out.

  3. Adopting Villages - BCH IS THE PIONEER: Door to Door Cancer Screening of each member, each household, taking suspicious cases to hospitals for Diagnosis, Treatment management & support, Palliative care & Counseling. We maintain database & follow-ups, monitoring & managing each patient individually, case by case.

  4. Support Groups, Medical Guidance & Counseling: a) We provide scientific analysis of the cancer diagnosis & treatment; b) We publish stories & interviews of Cancer advocates in local languages to inspire others fighting Cancer; c) We provide Medical Guidance to Our Patients, Our Support Groups, as we stand for each other, emotionally connected.

  5. Patient Care Package stitched by our expert seamstresses: Our bundle contains Post Surgery Drainage Tube Holders Apron, Breast Cancer Surgery (also applicable for other cancers), heart-shaped pillow with a pocket to insert cold or hot pack providing comfort and healing, specialized Chemo port Seat Belt pillows to wear in the Car while seated, and Soft Hats for irritated scalp from chemo, extremely helpful for patients. We donate the Care Package to BCH Cancer fighters from North Carolina and across the USA, patients at Atrium Health (Children to Adult Cancers). We write expressive cards with creative artwork to bring smiles to the faces of pediatric and adult cancer patients.

  6. Patient Treatment: Provides critical financial assistance for life-saving cancer treatment to underserved populations, especially in developing countries. BCH also delivers comprehensive lymphedema care through its Integrated Breast Cancer Lymphedema Treatment Unit, using the HealPress 12-Chamber Sequential Compression Device five days a week for 3+ months, alongside personalized exercises, free compression sleeves, and holistic support.

  7. Research: BCH penetrates into the untapped sectors for substantial impactful scientific analysis, working towards changing healthcare policies, providing sustainable solutions, need of the hour to help the community. BCH Cancer Research (Clinical data analysis & Epidemiological Research Study) is approved by Institutional Review Board (IRB) USA, Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) INDIA and SIERRA LEONE, Africa.

  8. Hurricane, Covid, Flood Relief Response: Hurricane relief in NC mountains, Executing Awareness Safety Protocols, Mask making to distribution, Food Relief in BCH-adopted villages

  9. Leadership Programs: Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy inculcates the art of scientific thinking & thought leadership in the youth, helping with their careers and motivating them to serve the community as leaders executing impactful roles as Volunteers, Ambassadors & BCH Club members.
