Dr Manigreeva Krishnatreya is the Medical Officer cum In-Charge of the Department of Cancer Registry and Epidemiology at Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, India. He passed his MBBS in 2003, DLO in 2007, and underwent training on population cancer survival at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK in the year 2013. Dr Krishnatreya has over six years of working and research experience in the field of cancer registry and epidemiology. Dr Krishnatreya has over 40 publications in national and international medical journals. Dr Krishnatreya is a resource person for PhD scholars under the Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam, India. He is working as an investigator of research projects funded by the National Cancer Grid, Department of Biotechnology, and Indian Council of Medical Research. Dr Krishnatreya is reviewer for World Journal of Surgical Oncology, Neuro-epdemiology, Melanoma Research, Indian Journal of Medical Research, Egyptian Journal of National Cancer Institute, Head & Neck, and Clinical Cancer Investigation Journal. Dr Krishnatreya is an active member of American Association for Cancer Research, international member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, life member of Indian Society of Clinical Research, and Association of Oncologists of North East India. His research interests are on identifying cancer risk including the study of interactions between genes and external factors, cancer incidence and mortality, temporal trends of common cancers, childhood cancers, and cancer survival studies. He is the founder and the present General Secretary of Cancer Research Foundation, India, a non-profit organization that promotes and support cancer research. Dr Krishnatreya is also a columnist for The Assam Tribune newspaper.
