Ph.D Research Scholar, Assam University

Kokrajhar, Assam, India

I am a Ph.D. Research Scholar in Assam University, Silchar, Assam, India. My work is aquatic toxicology. We are six in the family-parents, two sisters and one brother. I like to do handwork, write, translation and cook. I love teaching in class, as I was teaching for sometimes before joining in research.

When I was a child, we had a helper from a very remote village called Runikhata, Kokrajhar, Assam, and her elder sister was ill for a long time. She told that it pained so much in her breast and they showed to Doctor and Ojhas (village ayurvedic healer), but they could not cure and she died. She was unmarried that time. Then latter when I was in college then I came to know that was breast cancer. The information about breast cancer  is none or very less among the people. I think it is very important to make it understood at an early age when a girl or boy is growing up towards adulthood and illuminate as a social taboo. Presently I am not associated with any organization of this kind of work. I am looking forward to join.
