Sourav started his working life way back in 1993 after completing his Bachelor Of Engineering with Electrical & Electronics major from Birla Institute of Technology in India. Initial stint was for 2 years specializing in electrical systems maintenance at factories in India making Aluminum and Steel products after which he took a break to pursue his PGDM (equivalent to MBA) with Finance major at Xavier Institute of Management in India from 1995 to 1997. Post MBA he had a brief 1-year stint of general management activities at an agriculture-based business conglomerate in India after which he jumped career and industry to get into the world of Information Technology Services with Infosys Limited where he worked for around 21 years in different geographies covering multiple different roles from application/product development using technologies involving software design, development, solution/security/networking/integration architecture across business domains of production & supply chain management, life insurance, retirement benefits administration, financial asset management, prepaid cards and credit cards. Currently, he is a solution architect for credit card technology products.

Sourav has been a mentor to his Infosys teams at work in the domains that he worked on starting with self-learning, designing, documenting, and delivering/sharing the content to his geographically dispersed teams through different audio/video formats.

Sourav has traveled across the world through his work / personal endeavors having worked from far east to the far west across Taipei, Taiwan; Eastern, Southern, Western India; US East Coast across states of New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and travelled with family on vacations within US, India and to France, Switzerland, UAE, Malaysia. Within India have visited every state except for Lakshadweep Islands, Punjab, Haryana and the North East which I intend to cover sometime during this lifetime along with family.

Sourav loves mostly simple things in life like watching TV / Movies with family, listening to music of all genres, walking outdoors with family, traveling with family, attending events across different cultures / institutions. Always have his eyes & ears open to all that is happening around, be it close to home or far around the world and loves to read, understand, infer details across a wide variety of topics from science & technology, business, economy, sports, entertainment, eminent personalities biography, world events to history.

Mission statement: BCH activities touch the lives of people in a very positive way by bringing awareness towards cancer, especially focusing on breast cancer and I am keen on any activity that directly touches people’s lives in a positive way. Also, BCH events are run by Dr. Lopa in a self-sustaining mode leveraging just volunteer time and effort which I feel is the need of the hour in today’s world situation hence would like to volunteer my limited capabilities in any way that can help Dr Lopa’s initiatives.

Sourav’s mission statement is - Structured education enables us on specific subjects but life’s challenges call for applying our learnings across multiple subjects that we have learnt, hence Sourav firmly believes in applied knowledge across multiple subjects as required from case to case basis. Beauty of our world is in its imperfections hence do not focus on making life to be perfect rather focus should be to improve life one step at a time in an ever changing world. Good intent is more important than successful outcomes every time. Firmly believe that while individually each of us have limited capabilities but if many individuals can come together in an organized way contributing their individual capabilities then miracles can be achieved which might have seemed to be beyond the reach of us individually.
