COVID 19 WOMEN POWER-YOUTH POWER-KIDS MAGIC
We make it Possible in-spite of Inventory & Travel safety challenges - 1545 HOMEMADE MASKS Made under strict BCH Guidelines with NEW UNUSED 100% COTTON FABRIC, FILTER POCKETS. All 1545 MASKS DONATED to ~ 26 Organizations in a span of 38 DAYS - Healthcare Centers, Underprivileged Sectors (Shelters); High Risk Population & Essential Services in NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA & CHICAGO,IL to Lessen the Spread..
The project started on 1st April with an emotional drive as I thought that masks were the utmost need for the healthcare workers & scaling up the production was an issue. When I proposed the idea, within a day, many beautiful souls jumped in, also tagging their friends along & THE COVID-19 TOGETHER WE ARE ONE MASK MAKING TEAM was formed with ZERO revenue for Mask Making Project as We NEVER DID a fundraiser for Covid19 Mask Making project (donors who have earlier donated to BCH did so for cancer projects & I couldn’t touch their donations without their permission as it’s not meant for Covid 19). Once the work started, few friends reached out & donated online for Covid19 mask making project (that helped tremendously🙏 I could purchase fabric, elastics, thread, bias tapes & helped with Fedex ground shipment cost for the target organizations not in drivable distance), Many from our Team members selflessly donated fabric for our sewing personnels in addition to what I had ordered online (few sewing personnels provided end to end materials too)... true example- Where there is a Will, there is a Way... BCH is blessed to have each of our team members as a family! We did it! We made ~1545 masks with filter pocket (100% cotton fabric) & donated to ~26 organizations in a span of 38 days. We have101 Volunteers for our Mask Project (59 Women, 40 Kids & Youth, 2 Men)

That’s me.. narrating the story of each of our awesome team member…
I am running & executing the project, coordinating & working with all the team members (fabric cutting, sewing, coordination, distribution teams)..working meticulously towards each aspect of the project, Ordering the materials, the logistics, making sure fabric cutting & sewing is done with accurate measurements. Each completed mask we receive, I take accountability to be dispatched to the utmost needed organizations & high risk population. I take responsibility of the safety of our Mask making team, so we do not deliver the masks until & unless I receive the BCH waiver signed by the recipient organizations. Once waiver signed, either Aparna (from South Charlotte inventory) or Me (from North Charlotte inventory) ship the Masks via Fedex Ground (on behalf of Breast cancer Hub), if not within drivable distance to the target organizations. I am also making sure that the project is run on proper guidelines with 100% ethics & integrity…

Aparna Is leading the efforts to analyze the organizations in utmost need of the masks, coordinating with the contacts, researching the authenticity, so that we can serve the Covid Warriors who are in desperate need…cannot thank you enough for doing the essential groundwork that’s so critical.
