Rita Das

President, Ladies Group Social Welfare Society
President, Sri Sarada Shangha, Silchar Branch

Assam, India

My name is Rita Das, I have a Masters in education (MA) from Guwahati University, Assam. I am originally from Shillong, Meghalaya.

I was a Lecturer in a college but when saw the infancy and childhood of daughter Lopa and son Kumardeep getting compromised, I left my job and never regretted for that. Today when I look at my children, I enjoy and appreciate my earlier decision.
Now I am enjoying doing social services through our “Ladies group social welfare society”, a non-profit Foundation. The “Ladies Group” was the brain child of my late father Roma Pada Das. My mother Late Bibha Das also nurtured this organization after my father departed. For the last fifteen years with the support and immense help of my colleagues, we are marching forward happily working towards the welfare of the women to the best of our capacity. Many needy girls got employment through this society. I am also volunteering as Vice President with Sarada Sangha, Silchar (Public charitable trust for gilrs and women).

Mission Statement:
I support my daughter ‘s vision on Breast Cancer awareness and education in the developing countries via early detection and will help her in whatever way possible.
I am a proud mother today and would like to collaborate with our Foundation, Ladies Group. I will also try to organize events in Silchar, Assam to bring women and men together and work towards the cause. My association with Sarada Sangha can help spread the messages about early detection in the group gatherings we have frequently.
